Do I need to install any unique software to connect to the East Allen Wi-Fi network?

No special software is required.  All you need is an internet browser and you will be surfing the web in no time. We do suggest that you have an anti-virus software program running on any computer that is accessing the internet.

Can I connect using a Palm or Pocket PC handheld device to the East Allen Wi-Fi network?

No.  Connection to the tower can only be achieved thru the radio installed on your house.

Once you get logged on you can browse any site, including AOL's home page.

What is the name of the outgoing mail server to use when I am online with East Allen Wi-Fi.

You should use mail.eawifi.com for your outgoing SMTP server while on the East Allen Wi-Fi network.

Worked fine yesterday but not today. What happened?

The most important thing to consider when this problem occurs is if anything has changed since the last time you logged onto the network: installed new software, ran Norton Utilities or other system maintenance software, switched to a dialup connection, moved to a different HotSpot location. Even rebooting the computer can change your default setting and affect your connection. Becoming familiar with your computer's setting will help you trouble shoot this problem when it arises.

Accessing e-Mail.

East Allen Wi-Fi provides both client-based email services (using Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Mail, as well as other programs) in addition to a web based mail interface. To use the webmail interface, go to http://mail.eawifi.com/.
